Considered to be one of the top dives in the world, SS Thistlegorm was an armed British Merchant ship that was attacked by German bombers.  The explosion blew out the interior of the ship, making it very accessible to divers.

My wife and I have dived on this wreck and its amazing. The first thing to say is there is usually a rather strong current running most of the time. You will be strung out on the shot line like washing in a strong breeze - don't let go! However once on the wreck you will be sheltered. The rear section has been partially blown off by a bomb (cause of sinking) - this is the normal point of entry / exit. There is a small loco lying to port side - it had been welded to the deck but has been blown off in the blast. You will see lorries, rifles and aircraft parts amongst all of the extraordinary military miscellany in the holds. If you get the chance to peer over the bow, you will often see a huge swirling ball of jacks enjoying the current.
