Oasis
Farafra Oasis is the smallest and least populated of the Libyan Desert oases.  It is located on a small hill in the middle of a plain and is also nearby (30 miles south of) the White Desert and its white limestone rock formations. 

Farafra Oasis is mainly inhabited by local Bedouins, and is considered an excellent example of an oasis because of its remote location and relaxed atmosphere.  The settlement is filled with traditional mud houses, palm trees, donkeys and craftsmen.
