About Garden of the Sleeping Giant
This tropical garden is in a high valley on a mountain which really looks like a sleeping giant. It is full of unusual orchids and gigantic ferns. A boardwalk takes you past ponds and bamboo groves and at the end we were given cool glasses of fruit juice to sip in cane chairs overlooking the greenery. It was really a pleasant change of scenery to beach and we passed local villages along the way.

I felt like I was really in a Sleeping Giant's garden! It was very magical with bright orchids and tropical foliage all over the place and a lovely boardwalk past ponds and steamy bamboo groves. Sitting on the verandah at the end sipping guava juice is a cherished memory. The journey there passes villages as you ascend the sleeping giant mountain range - a great change from beaches and swimming.
