If you really want to see Santa Claus Secret Home base at the Arctic Circle, you have to visit this absolutely Touristic Sight. Expect to pay for most things, as Santa charges you about 7 Euros to have a photo taken on his lap. Thrilling, jep. Also there is some underground Museum near the Village which was in renovation in 2007. Expect toy factories and little elven slaves building this years christmas toys. What kicks more is just driving about 100km to the west of Rovaniemi, find the few "mountains" (250m over sea level) and experience the feeling of looking into ANY direction and seeing no sign of civilisation anywhere. Take a GPS with you as it sucks to be lost in this sparsely populated area. - Suicide in winter.

Whatever your age is, you'll be happy to cross the Arctic Circle to meet Santa Claus all year long. Besides, he speaks many languages - but not all of them!
My favorite part: the post office next door. You can chose to send a postcard that will get to your addressee in a few days or... on Xmas! I sent one to myself in Spring and forgot about it shortly after... so it was a nice surprise to receive it on Xmas Eve! Give your beloved ones and tourself this treat =)

it got a famous bridge, but i'm not so interested in this. i suggest to visit Santa's house, in a particular way. go there by the last bus of afternoon, you'll find the whole village close and no way for come back to the city. If you look around in the wood you'll find a sami's tent, you can slept there and light a fire inside of it.
warning: it's cold. really nice to see dusk and dawn, it's the polar arctic circle :)

Although you may find it a tourist trap ... it is a "magical" place anyone should see. When it is summer, spring, autumn or winter ... it doesn't matter ... it is just a happy place where you can find your inner child again. A must to see is the postoffice and of course a visit in the room of the most jolly man on the planet! And if you like animals ... those fuzzy reindeer aren't all that bad either! Check out Rudolph! :-)
