Ruka is a nice skiing centre, not too big but not too small either and everyone finds slopes to his/her taste over here. The best time to go is in March when the days are usually sunny and warm

Great slopes, good bars, cheap hotels and tickets.. Only minus is that there's nothing for kids.

4 stars for being this big in Finland, many Russians here nowadays, but pretty good nightlife ;)

Great for beginners and practically guaranteed snow; plenty of other activities for non skiers.
