The Isenheimer Altar paintings are by themselves a most worthwhile to make the trip to Colmar. Viewing them is a good reason to travel to Europe. If you are in the general area, I highly recommend your stopping in Colmar to see them. There is asmall booklet about the Isenheimer Altar which is informative and interesting. It contains photographs of the paintings.
