This present basilique was built in the 11th century, later there were several adaptions. The general feel of the place is gothic. The shrine with the remains of the patron saint of Reims can be found here as well as the graves of quiet a few French kings.

Maybe not as big and impressive as the cathedral but still a must. I must say I actually liked it better because of the sobre atmosphere and the lack of tourists. The long dark ship dominates the general feel of the place. Check out the grave of Saint-Remi which is decorated with big statues telling the story of the saint.

Very beautiful church, known for it's smiling angels. Next to the church is a great museum of French history.
