Most of Claude Monet's famous paintings were created outdoors in this inspirational garden (Clos normand) with a multitude of colorful flowers where light and water create harmony and peace. Monet represented this garden on 8 huge canvases that are exhibited at musée de l’Orangerie in Paris. The pink stucco house where Monet lived for 40 years is also represented. A mix of colors that inspires feelings of serenity.

It was easy to see where Monet found his inspiration for his paintings. The grounds and gardens were BEAUTIFUL! I did go in May when all the flowers and trees were in bloom. It was a little crowded but visiting when everything was in bloom and the weather nice made navigating the crowds well worth it. The house was interesting but it is the grounds/gardens that are so impressive (at least in the spring).

The garden around Monet's house is a spectacular painting. It's a feast of intermingled colors that are designed in an artistic way. There's also the water garden, where you can see lilies going out of the still water. Monet's painting (copies) are displayed in the house. Besides, you can see Monet's belongings.

I have always loved Claude Monet's paintings and visiting his home and gardens in Giverny was surreal. Since visiting Giverny, I have seen some of his paintings on display in traveling exhibits in Las Vegas and Cleveland.

We took a bus tour from Paris and it was worth every penny. The gardens are beautiful and his house was interesting to see. It was also nice to see the countryside without having to drive.
