Jan 14, 2009 This central park in Paris is simply my favorite. It's located 5 minutes walking from the Pantheon, Saint Sulpice, or St Germain area. Around the Senat and its round basin where children play in summer with small boats, are trees and multi-coloured flowers where different types of sculpture are hidden, animals or famous people as Delacroix, Beethoven or Baudelaire. When the park is quiet, you can stay in the middle of hundreds of chairs, scattered in shadows, or just looking old people playing chess. In summer, beteween the trees, violon concerts are performed under an old typical kiosque, on the right. The Medicis Fountain on the top right, is the best part. It's 5Om long, with its mythical sculpture of the cyclope, Polyphème, above his loving Galatée in Acis' arms who's gonna die under a rock. Galatée will make a fountain from the place and give it her beloved Acis as its divine protector. Tis place is definitely romantic ! Jul 28, 2010 After spending a day at the Louve we headed to the Jardin du Luxembourg and it started sprinkling as we walked down one of the streets. We stopped to buy a couple umbrellas then I headed to a bakery to buy the beautiful flan in the window. In the rain I walked flan at hand right to the jardin. After walking a bit in circles we found the two others planted in their seats under cover of the rain. We wasted no time digging into the delicious flan with miniature spoons. We spent a whiles walking in the jardin facinated by the art and me for the trees. Jul 5, 2010 Before the French Revolution this garden was only open to royalty. Today, it is one of the most popular green spaces in Paris. Just a few blocks from the Seine and a stones throw from the Pantheon, it's a great place to have a picnic and people-watch while taking a break from city life. Aug 20, 2008 So well taken care. No matter what time of year. Always crowded with people sitting around the little fountain reading, talking, sharing a bottle of wine. Good place to have lunch, to have a break, to meet people, to sleep, to tan, to have a date or just to be there. Aug 25, 2008 It has enough place to please everyone regardless of age and hobbies. I used to go to this park after school to study, read a book or just to get away from the busy life in the city of lights. I especially like to hang out around the Fontaine de Medicis.
