Jun 11, 2008 It's the most popular place in Montmartre (or better on top of Montmartre). There are as many different restaurants as cobblestones! You can get crêpes and other typical French food everywhere. And you should see all the painters there (but a painting of you costs about 100€!). It's just fabulous! The most beautiful building is near that place - it's the Sacré Coeur. You must absolutely visit it! Dec 2, 2008 With its many artists setting up their easels each day for the tourists, the Place du Tertre is a reminder of the time when Montmartre was the mecca of modern art. At the beginning of the 20th century, many painters including Picasso were living there. Aug 24, 2008 It is great to see the artists at work and talk a walk in the much calmer surrounding streets. However, try not to get annoyed by the artists that stop you in the street to make a drawing of you. Aug 15, 2009 It's nice to hang around this place and watch artists do their thing. Have coffee, take some snack or take a leisurely lunch amidst people watching. It's a lively place.
