Trocadero
About Trocadero
Located on Chaillot hill, in the 16th arrondissement, on the Seine right bank, this huge space/esplanade was named after the fort besieged by the French in Cadix, Spain. It opens on the Eiffel Tower and is dominated by Palais de Chaillot build in 1878 for the Universal Exhibition.
Palais de Chaillot has 2 pavilions and 2 curved wings with English gardens going down to Seine in graduated steps with waterfalls. Behind the palace, there are large avenues in a star shape. It’s in Palais de Chaillot that the United Nations universal declaration of Human rights was signed in 1948. Musée de la Marine, Musée de l'homme et Musée de l'architecture et du patrimoine are located in the palace. Payment Accepted:

Sep 2, 2008 If you can, find a hotel in this area of Paris, right beside the Eiffel Tower, and very close to the Arc de Triomphe. It is a very beautiful area of Central Paris, (like most I suppose), and with metro stations close by, it's very easy to get to the other areas. (I recommend the Notre Dame area, also) Jul 5, 2010 This is the best place to get a perfect picture of the Eiffel Tower in Paris! Especially at night, as long as you don't mind being hounded by peddlers! It's directly across the river and situated on a hill - couldn't ask for a much better view!
