Night is the right time for walking around Place du Capitole.
It seems that life starts in the center of the city at 10 p.m. - the streets become full of people, all cafe, restaurants become full too.
If you need a concentration of the Toulouse night life, just go from place Wilson to place du Capitole (not more than 300 m) and walk around.

Nice restaurants and shops around the plaza. The opera is in one of the corners. Very close to the metro and easy to walk to. I loved the beautiful art on the ceiling of the arched buildings around the plaza, specially the picture of the Venus of Lespugue, an amazing female figurine of 21,000 years discovered in the Haute-Garonne region.

Magnifique place entourée de bâtiments en brique rouge, dont l'hôtel de ville (le "Capitole"). L'enfant chéri de la ville, Claude Nougaro, l'évoque dans ses souvenirs dans sa chanson "Toulouse"
