If you go to Southern France in August-September, you should stop by the area around Forcalquier and see the lavendar fields. They are massive and look more like a purple sea than a field. I'm not much of a flower guy, but this was so beautiful it converted me instantly! Plenty of the farmers have caught onto the tourist draw of the harvest season and have stands and shops around selling everything lavendar you can think of!
