The Roman Triumphal Arch, once standing on what used to be Via Agrippa, a road linking Arles to Lyon, celebrates the Second Legion's victories over the Gauls. Commissioned by Julius Caesar in 49 BC, the Arch was redecorated in 25 AD by Tiberius.  Situated at 19.57 in height and 8.4 metres across, the structure comprises three arched passages and carvings with images of the sea.  No mortar was used in the building of this structure.
