Jul 28, 2009 I really don't want to review it by a star rating (I gave it five anyway), but Dachau Concentration Camp is a sight worth seeing. It was the first concentration camp built, and the gas chambers remain standing (they were built in preparation for the last phase of deaths but were never used). There are memorials for the lives lost from all major religions on the property. Quite a sobering experience. Jun 12, 2008 Dachau was a Nazi German concentration camp and the first one opened in Germany. All prisoners walked through a gate, marked with the sentence "Arbeit macht frei" (Work makes you free). At the memorial site it is written "Never again" in several languages. It's very sad site... Jan 15, 2012 Live close by the camp. I have been there once. Very sad to see what happened to those poor people. Very nice to see that so many people from all over the world visit the camp every day. Beside the camp ground a few km away there is the shooting place where the Germans killed many people. My advice to you is: Don't go there. It's extremely depressing.
