Oct 23, 2009 One of the more relaxing districts, where the atmosphere causes residents and visitors alike to forget they are in a city of over a million. Take any tram with the end stop Romanplatz, for example the 12, and get out there, or get out at Rotkreuzplatz and relax in a beer garden or enjoy some ice cream or a bite to eat at one of the many nearby restaurants. Both of these neighborhoods are virtually undiscovered by tourists even though Neuhausen is home to a popular night club and the world's largest beer garden. What's more astounding is that, while millions of tourists flock to Munich in the summer months and September and October for Oktoberfest, few find their way to the tranquil Schloss Nymphenburg gardens. Oct 5, 2009 Let's drink a "normal" 1 litre mug of weissbier and eat weisswurste mit sauerkraut und senf... And go to see all tourist attraction points. Underground system suits very well for that, just buy a cheapie €5 daily ticket. It is one of the best and beautiful German cities I've visited! Mar 15, 2012 I love Munich, the capital of Bavaria. It is a pretty, friendly and clean city full of charm. Known for its Octoberfest celebration, be sure to visit a brewery or, see the Marienplatz, and use it as a homebase for travelling south to visit the castles and other points of Bavaria. Oct 20, 2009 München , is derived from the old German word for Mönche , which means " Monks " in English. The reason for naming the city in such a manner is to honour the fact that monks of the Benedictine order founded the city. Great city with a vast history and culture! Related Links
