The Reichstag not only offers visiters an amazing history of this facinating city, it also offers one of the best views and is one of the best sites. The glass dome on the top of the Reichstag is a contemporary twist on a beautiful historical feature that unfortunatly didn't survive World War 2. Russian graffiti covered the walls after the wall and little of the origional dome was left. What was built in its place is an amazing feat of engineering and artistic beauty, the Reichstags glass dome. Well worth a visit and the spiraling walk to the top, a truely unique site

Make the Reichstag your first stop of the day when in Berlin. If you get there for 8am, you shouldn't have to queue to long and can benefit from the great light earlier on in the day, especially in the summer when it can get quite hot in Berlin and, therefore, slightly hazy. The gentle slope of the path to the top makes it an easy walk to the top with some great views of Berlin. There's also an interesting display of photographs of the building throughout its history.

Great views, try not to go in the middle of a hot summer day - it can be like a hot house inside the dome if you do. Free worth the wait in line to get in.
So interesting how the ideals of democracy have been worked into the way the dome was built and designed.

Next to Hamburg in Berlin one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. I've been there on a class-trip and we saw many museums with were really interesting. The best thing about Berlin is the "Siegssäule" at night, you can see the whole city with all it's lights.

It's nice to see, the view is fantastic & it's a definite place-to-go when visiting Berlin. Try going there when it's not too cloudy so you get a clear view. And avoid Saturdays unless you have a half day's time for queueing.
