Koln has a handful of different Christmas markets, but my favorite by far was a medival-themed market! They had a traveling "band" with ancient instruments played by people in costumes, "medival" food and drink (including MEAD! which is amazing...so delicious! It's like honey-wine) and traditional gifts. It's a lot smaller than some of the other markets but it has a lot of heart and is very entertaining.

Christmas is a special time and the markets in Germany are famous for it. Here you can find a lot of things for your christmas decoration but nowadays also alot of food. Don't forget to eat the famous "Würst" . Germans love them and I have to admit that they aren't all that bad. I keep on getting back every year!

The Christmas market in Dortmund has the largest christmas tree in the world and is truly a site to see if you are in town during this time of year.
