In 1180 the Kölner Townwall was built and was considerated one the biggest mediaeval Citywall (7,2 km) during the Holy Roman Empire. The fortification counted 12 towers. Today there are only 5 left (Hahnentor, Eigelseintorburg, Ulrepforte and Severinstorburg).
It's one of the beautifullest spots in town, especially in Christmas time when there's the christmas market. The flair and the atmosphere is unique.

Lovely little square with it's own caractere. I was there on a saturday and there was a little market with all organic veggies and fruit.
