This is West Africa's largest open air market right in the heart of Ashanti Kumasi. Located down the road from the Cultural center you can find anything from jewlery, food, toiletries, to gorgeous fabrics (in the center market!) spices, and grains. If you are traveling with someone, STAY CLOSE, it's very easy to lose one another and pretty easy to lose your way. This is a great place to buy fabric, and see a HUGE market, full of everday hustle and bustle.

Payment Accepted:

Any tro-tro heading to Kumasi central market will take you right to it. The entrance is hard to notice with all the comotion but ask any local and they will point you to the right direction

This is definately something you want to experience if you're in the area. A HUGE open air market, full of everything, including rows upon rows of gorgeous fabric. However this is not the best place to purchase fabric, if you are Obruni (white) The prices will be jacked WAY up. Try smaller shops on the edge of the market. Good prices range from 3-5 GHC per yard, but you can get it as cheap at 1-1.50 GHC
