May 4, 2009 I stayed at this hotel - St. George - in the Kolonai district (higher end) complete with an Acropolis view from my balcony! This hotel is at the base of Mt. St. Lykavittos - which means the mountain of the wolves. Tale of Athena dropping "the mountain" there when Zeus called her away from what she was planning. Very cool to hike up to the top where there is an old temple still in use and to look out over all of Athens with the Mediterranean Sea glistening in the distance. There's a special path that is less steep and much quicker to get to the top...look to the right (if you're facing the mt.) of this hotel - up about a block or so.... One of the most breathtaking views I've seen to date. J Dec 11, 2008 Beautiful view of the city (actually the only central hill of the city) and great concerts at the theatre on top of it!! Also, you can climb to the very top to the church and restaurant or just take the cable car (in the mountain, sadly no views) Oct 13, 2008 Great View of Athens City! Plus you can hear nice concerts at the theater on top of the hill (when available). Worth a hike.
