As the whole island, this port is a combination of styles and architecture that makes it so clear that many cultures, peoples and traditions have been changed and mixed there, since it exits. But its not a forced mixed, and this is what's amazing about the whole place, its not something that looks un-natural or badly combined, it has a very specific charm. colourful carriages with horses waiting for their tourists, modern ships in the port, the ''bateau'' that takes you out to see the bottom of the see throught its glass bottom, as well as the old pottery ligned up for selling. it all reminded me of venice, and then i realized that i wasnt there, when i heard a greek man most kindly inviting us to sit for a coffee, with a port view :)

You have to visit Chania's old port!I'm sure you will fall in love with this place!the best hour of the day to visit it is the sunrise when the boat from Pireus just arrives to new port of Chania. You can enjoy your breakfast in a restaurant admiring the sea view and the great lighthouse in the sea!Have fun!

This is a so cool place. The arcitecture of the buildings at the port is beautiful and this place is so alive. There are so many people having fun at clubs and restaurants day and night that is really great to be hear. some tavernas at the port have delicious and cheao local food.

Beautiful Venetian ruins and crystal clear water full of fish. Wonderful small restaurants however, also a few tourist traps. Meet a friendly local and you'll learn the best eatery in town! Locals eat at the best restaurants.
