Oia

The must-see place in Thira (Santorrini) is Oia (Ia). Not nearly as tourist crowded as Fira it offers just as much to see and even more beautiful view than anywhere on the island. It is a 15 minute drive from Fira on a scooter or and ATV. Be sure to see the local Wine and peanut vendor on the south end of the parking lot for some awesome sugar-roasted nuts with sesame seeds.

The place to go for a picture perfect, jaw dropping, postcard worthy sunset. Really, words can't describe how beautiful it was to have a clear view of the sun as it was setting over the Mediterranean, surrounded by the whitewashed buildings of Oia and the seabreeze blowing through the air.

The sunset of Oia and the view is just breathtaking, spectacular. Just sit and watch the scenery and I'll guarantee that you will be happy that you have been there. I sure am, even though it was 50 degree hot in August 2002, when I was there.

Wonderful Island. Colors are bright blue white. Lately it has been used a lot in films such as Sisterhood of the travelling pants and some others. When it is not crowded it is wonderful.

Awesome place, so romantic and beautiful with all the white washed walls and colours at dusk.  Fantastic atmosphere and excellent swimming places off the volcanic rocks!

One of the best sunsets I've ever seen. No matter how good is your photo, live is better! Just astonishing. And the little village by night was also magical!

Beautiful narrow alleys to walk around and of course the glorious sunset.... BUT too many "traditional" stuff around... to a degree that is becoming annoying.

After a trip throw the mountains you get to Oia city, a magical place where you can see the best sunsest you can ever witness in your life.
