This temple high in the mountains at Delphi was considered to be the most important temple in all of Greece. People would come from all around Greece to ask questions of the oracle, who was the priestess of Apollo. She would give cryptic answers for everything from when a farmer would plant his seeds, to when a nation would declare war. The ruins here are still very impressive against the mountains in the background and the ruins are quite large for its seemingly teetering position on the mountainside. There is even a large Olympic track on the outskirts of the ruins. There is a great small town to stay in with magnificent views not far from the ruins with fair accommodation and surprisingly strong nightlife. Make sure Delphi is one of your destinations if you ever travel to Greece.

At the foot of Mount Parnassos, within the angle formed by the twin rocks of the Phaedriades, lies the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which had the most famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was regarded as the centre of the world. According to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. The sanctuary of Delphi, set within a most spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious centre and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world.

Great ruins with a fantastic history. Citystates in ancient Greece used to show of their welth by erecting big temples and treasuries here. The result today is a mish-mash of ruins. The great setting against the hill just adds to the charm. A must if you're in Greece even if it is a bit far away from the other big centres like Athens.

the oracle of delphi is high in the moutains that is only you, the sky and nature. It was here that the ancient people use to come to get their answers to questions. But the god Apollo (the sun god) gave it to you in a sentence that didnt make sense, you had to figure it out

One of the more well preserved ancient sites in Greece. Lots of culture to suck your teeth into, both at site and at the museum. Moreover, the outlying area is really beautiful in Spring, so you are advised to make your trip then!
