This is an amazing place. We arrived on a cruise and took the bus tour, but a few of our friends rented a moped and still made it there. It was about a 20-30 minute drive by bus. The ruins are just outside a small town with all the touristy shops you can throw a stick at. The ruins themselves are amazing. Lots to see and learn about. I strongly recommend either bringing a book or hiring a guide as you will otherwise be walking though a pile of rocks, without understanding what they were supposed to be and the cool stories behind them. The temple of Zeus and the race trck were my favorite areas.

The ancient theatre with the great acoustics is the most prominent monument, as only ruins to the ground were left from the site of the ancient Olympic Games. Worth a visit if you are into ancient monuments and sites.
