Anywhere with a View of the Mountain

Kouroufing means black rock in Malinké, the local language spoken in the area. Several villages and towns close to the little mountain/big hill are called something similar - Kouroufimba, Kouroufindeng, Koukourouba, etc.. The name derives from the fact that the mountain is black from having had the vegetation burnt off it so many times that it is actually all black.
