This is not a tourist attraction. Rather, this is where the poorest of the poorest live in Haiti. They survive off what the garbage trucks bring in to dump. Children suffer from malnutrition. Everyone lives in abject poverty. It was an incredibly humbling and eye-opening experience for me to visit this part of the city. However, Cite Soleil is a very dangerous part of the city. DO NOT VISIT WITHOUT A TRUSTWORTHY GUIDE AND TRANSPORTATION!
