Maui is one of the most beautiful places I have been. It is quaint yet retains a certain majesty which cannot be ignored. The beaches are beautiful and well preserved. Watching a sunset from the Haliakala crater 10k feet up is a truly pleasurable experience. The island is riddled with waterfalls and little, out of the way places where you can stop for a snack or further exploration.

Good friendly town close to the resort areas and easy to meet locals and get their inside scoop on the best places to visit on the island. reastaurants/Bars etc along the seaside are much cheaper then the resorts and still have the same great ocean views.

Paradise, at a cost of course, but paradise.  Try staying off the beaten path, in Paia or Wailuku to save some money.  I love this island for its laid back vibe and tropical beauty.  A world unto itself.

One of my favorite islands in Hawaii. It can be a little pricey but it's an amazing place.
