A small village that is also a laid back surfing center with quaint shops, a nice variety of restaurants and many small art galleries.

Getting there:
Catch the bus #52Wahiawa-Circle Isle to O'ahu 's North Shore from the beach side of Ala Moana Centre.  This route goes near another attraction, Dole Pinapple Plantation before arriving at Hale'iwa.  Travel time approx 2hours. After visiting the town, hop on #52 going the same direction and it 'll take you by Banzai Pipeline, 'Ehukai Beach and Sunset Beach, Turtle Bay resort and the Polynesian Cultural Centre on the way back to Ala Moana Center.  #55Kaneohe-Circle Isle bus will also get you to Hale'iwa but the travel time is approx 3 hours.

Make a stop here if you are driving to the North Shore. A local told me must tries in Haleiwa are Matsumoto Shaved Ice and homemade ice cream from Scoop of Paradise. Definitely worth the trip!

Laid back rustic small village with many art galleries and neat shops. Good place to stop and enjoy a meal before heading to the beaches.

Fantastic sleepy little surf town. Definitely worth a visit. Juice bars are super tasty and fresh ingredient sandwiches on fresh whole grain bread!! Yum

Right next to Sunset Beach, and this is a nice little town to chill out in before heading to craziness of the rest of the North Shore.
