Hawaii's Plantation Village tells the story of the 400,000 people who immigrated from countries like China, Japan, Philippines and  Portugal to Hawaii to work the sugar plantation with arifacts, photos and original and replica homes and buildings represnting each ethic groups's lifestyle from 1900-1930..  There is also a taro farm on the grounds.

Getting there:

By car- Take Hi west bound. get off at exit 7 (Waikeie/Waipahu). Turn left. Turn right onto Waipahu Street.  The plantation Village will be on your left.  Ample free parking.

By Bus- from Kuhio Avenue, Saratoga or Kalia Road heading away from Diamond Head board 42 Ewa Beach or E Country Express..  Get off at the Waipahu Transit Center and wait for the 432 West Waipau Leoku street or 43 Waipahu

Bus to return, board the 432 East Waipahu Paiwa or 43 Alapai Transit Center back to the Waipahu Transit Center and wait for the 42 Waikiki Beach and hotels bus or E country Express  aproximate travel time 1 hr and 30 mins

This place is amazing. If you love plantation stuff then you will be right at home. Or if you dont love plantation stuff then i bet you will still be right at home. But let me tell you a trick. Go to the snack bar and ask for Raul. Tell him Bill Snail sent you and he will hook you up with extra ice in your soda. I know right....AMAZING

It was interesting to see how the immigrants from different countries live and worked together in very basic accommodations and pretty harsh working conditions
