May 5, 2009 Ahh, THE Hong Kong experience. Though Hong Kong can be a bit hazy, it’s still worth it to head up to the Peak to get a panoramic view of the city. It’s not the tallest point in HK, but the new multi-story tall observation tower bumps up the viewing height a few more hundred metres. There’s an extra fee of $20HKD to get up to the observation tower beyond the cost of the tram ride, but definitely you get a better view. It’s a totally different experience at night so you may want to factor in two visits – or failing that, I’d more recommend going at night than during the day. If you have plenty of time, allow enough time to go on some of the peak trails that weave around the mountain top. Some of the circuits can take a few hours to complete. Nov 17, 2008 Experience the coolest train ride. You feel like you're standing almost sideways, with the the train climbing a hill at almost 90 degree angle...but you don't need to hold-on to anything. They pull you up with one thick lope. I was afraid, it will get cut and start falling...wouldn't recommend for people who're terribly afraid of height. visit http://www.thepeak.com.hk May 6, 2009 One of the most beautiful places on the island. The peak has a panoramic view of the downtown beeming with skyscrapers and of the bay. Make sure to visit the place on a sunny day and be ready to take stunning shots. Visiting the place at sunset is also advisable as skycrapers get illuminated and everything looks like SimCity 3000. Jul 20, 2008 This is a pretty interesting lookout spot. You first take a cable car to the top of the mountain. It's a pretty reasonable price to take the cable car to the top of the mountain. There's all kinds of souvenir shops and there's a wax museum. The lookout is probably the best spot to look out over the city of Hong Kong. Jun 1, 2010 This is a must see while in Hong Kong. Take the tram up, which is really interesting. I can't imagine being carried up it in a sedan chair before the tram. Scary! The view is amazing. There are places to eat and take in the view, but you should go to the Peak Tower (worth the extra little bit) for the better view.
