Feb 17, 2009 Potentially the cheapest touristy thing you'll do in Hong Kong. When I was there, it was 1.7 HKD (0.22USD). It's worth the trip to see how this city got between the island and the peninsula before the MTR was created. The unfortunate part about the harbour from the Kowloon side is that the smog blocks the view of the Hong Kong Island skyscrapers. That being said, when you're on the boat crossing the harbour, the bright lights of the skyscrapers are in full shine as you come closer to the island. May 6, 2009 I remember taking this ferry when I was younger with my grandmother, and it was a great experience to ride the ferry again. This is like a HK institution. The Ferry goes from Tsim Sha Tsui over to Central or vice versa, and the whole ride is pretty quick. You get a great view of the harbour from both ends and sure beats sitting underground in the metro. Highly recommended to try at least once –more so if you’re staying at the Marco Polo hotel as it lets out right outside the hotel :p Jun 1, 2010 Another thing that you really should try to do. You can take the ferry and combine it with the Peak as there is a double decker that runs every 20 minutes (sometimes 30) between the Star Ferry terminal (central side) and the Peak tram stop. It is super easy to do and cheaper than the mtr which goes under the water. Sit back and watch the buildings during the short ride. Related Links
