Standing at prominent places throughout Budapest the purpose of the symbolic statues was to constantly remind people of how great and powerful the Soviet system was.
After the fall of the communist system in 1989 all statues were moved to the outskirts of Budapest to establish a unique museum.

It's very special. Who lived in the communist system it's intresting for them, what was the art at that time, and I always saw these statues in all over the city, when I was less then 10. Who didn't, they could know a little bit more this strict and regulated world.

Great for a walk around. Grab some Goulash at the top of the hill overlooking the city to recharge, then trundle back on down and hit the baths...
