On the Buda side, across the Chain Bridge (Lánchíd), on the left side of the tunnel, you will find the this antique Cable-car that takes you up to the 60 meter high Castle district. It is interesting and fun for children to take the 2 minute ride. There is a really good view of the Chain Bridge, the Basilica, and the Pest side of the city. The upper station is next to the Buda Castle.

The Great Synagogue in Dohány Street, also known as Dohány Street Synagogue or Tabakgasse Synagogue, is located in Erzsébetváros , the 7th district of Budapest . It is the largest synagogue in Eurasia and the second largest in the world, after the Temple Emanu-El . It seats 3,000 people and is a centre of Neolog Judaism .
The synagogue is 75m long and 27m wide and was built between 1854 and 1859 .

The statue was erected in 1947 after the second world war. The main figure is a woman, holding an olive branch, the symbol of peace in her hands. On both sides symbolic figures can be seen: the young man's victory over the dragon represents the defeat of fascism. The statue was erected in 1947 after the second world war. I love old-scholl dtuff. And this is. A nineteenth-century funicular running up to the palace Constructed on the initiative of Ödön, Széchenyi's son, it was only the second funicular in the world when it was inaugurated in 1870, and functioned without a hitch until wrecked by a shell in 1945. The yellow carriages are exact replicas of the originals, but are now lifted by an electric winch rather than a steam engine.

The courtyard to the rear houses the Synagogue's garden of remembrance. Here, Imre Varga's poignant weeping willow stands as a memorial to the Holocaust. As well as the names of Jewish families who were murdered, an inscription simply reads 'Whose agony is greater than mine'. A moving exhibition on the fate of Budapest's Jewish population during World War II is also housed in a wing of the Synagogue.

For a small price this Funicular is the easiest way up to Castle Hill, offering nice views along the way, and it is located right near the Chain Bridge. It was originally built in the 19th century but destroyed during WWII, and rebuilt again in the 1980s.

Overpriced. Get some exercise and walk up the hill top the castle. If you want a more exciting ride uphill, take the libego from the end of the 158 bus line up to the top of Janoshegy.. The scenery is beautiful and the silence is wonderful.

A female figure brandshining the palm of victory over 100 feet aloft. It's true not our liberty statue is the biggest in the world, but I think this is the most beautiful. It's expressive: the woman + holded-up arms + palm.
