Parliament Building
Built between 1885 and 1904 the Parliament building soon became the symbol of the Hungarian capital. Not just becuse its sheer size – nearly 18000 square metres – but because of its detailed decoration, inside splendour and eclectic diversity. It is the most expensive building ever built in Hungary. It has 691 rooms, 10 courtyards, 27 gates and 29 staircases. It also houses a public library with 500.000 volumes. The walls from outside are decorated by the statues of the most important historical figures of Hungary. The building is 268 metres long and 118 metres wide, it stretches along the Pest side of the Danube between the Chainbridge and Margaret Bridge.

This place is so impressive. Be prepared to wait in line and get there early because the tours are kinda funky and you can only get tickets for the day of. So get there early and you will be guaranteed to get tickets for one of the tours that day. Also- different tours are in different languages so pay attention to that. But the place is beautiful! My only complaint is that you don't get to see very much of the building. But what you do see is so impressive!

For the new tourist this building looks like the Parliament of London. It might be a bit confusing becouse most pictures are taken from across the river. The Hungarian building is worht too a visit. You have to stay in line a lot and better if you go with a guided tour.Plenty to see also around the building because the Hungarian revolution in 1956 is well marked there.

Probably one of Europe's most beautiful, historical and exciting city. It's Europe, yet different: people are generally very nice, the language is impossiible though, so many tend to be multi-linguists there; impressive. Check out the thermal baths, and colourful markets in the summer.

Nice place! You can take bus no. 3. It takes you all over the best places to see in Budapest (included the parliament), just like a tourist bus, but really cheap. You cannot miss the Buda hill and Margaret Island, ust in the middle of the Danube river, with its nice musical fountain

An exquisitely beautiful building on the banks of the Danube. From Buda Castle you get a great view of the Parliament and vice versa. Even if you don't go on a tour of the inside of the building, head that way to get a close-up look at the neo-gothic exterior.
