Getting there:

Dec 24, 2008 The Széchenyi Spa is the largest thermal bath of Budapest. The neo-baroque baths were built in 1913. Its thermal springs were discovered in 1879 - they are the deepest and warmest thermal wells in Budapest. It is a vast complex of indoor and outdoor pools, the premier medicinal bath of the Pest side of the city, situated in the middle of the City Park. Nov 12, 2009 This is the only place about Hungary in the Mini Europe in Brussels... My favourites are the outdoor pools. In summer I LOVE the whirlpool and jacuzzi in the cold(er) pool and the best thing is that it is either / or. 10 minutes whirlpool, when it stops, 10 minutes jacuzzi (have to be quick to get a spot!) and so on... In the winter the other pool (the warm one) is the best especially that it gets dark very early (like 4pm) and it is great to have the almost 40 degree (celsius) pool outside. You quickly immerse and have your head in the steam while outside it can be -10... This is the pool often pictured in travel guides on Budapest with middle-aged/old men playing chess inside. Mar 30, 2010 A fantastic place, and an easy way to pass an entire day! We decided to try it out on a whim and really had no idea what to expect, so we were pretty blown away....heated (and cooled!) pools at every temperature that your body can possibly handle that seem to go on forever! We only meant to spend an hour or two there, but found that a day passed by without us realizing what time it was. It was worth the admission price and I highly, highly recommend it. After a long time spent on the road (or even just to spoil yourself!) this is the perfect way to unwind! Oct 1, 2008 One of the most beautiful baths I have ever seen in the world. (or spa's as North Americans would like to call it). It is clean, massive, and asthetically gorgeous. The admission is affordable (with varying rates), with of course showers and change areas. The water temperature outside is perfect according to the current temperature it is. Inside they have mineral, cold and hot tub areas ranging. The bright color of the buildings and architectual history is what makes it such an elegant, interesting and classy bath.
