Sziget Festival is one of the most colourful events on the European festival circuit, which – beside the great variety of musical programmes – tends to offer the cream of many other cultural genres as well.

Getting there:
The festival area is easy to reach with local train (HÉV) departing from Batthyány tér. You have to get off the train at the stop Filatorigát. During the days of the Festival trains run on a more frequent schedule inside Budapest in the morning and evening hours (at the weekend in the afternoons also) and there are night trains as well.
Please note that the only night line stopping at Batthyány tér is the hourly running 921 . Those who are about to go downtown at night, we suggest changing to night line 906 , 923 or 931 at Margit híd (Margit Bridge); towards Móricz Zsigmond körtér please change to night line 960 . Towards Zugló (district XIV) and Ferencváros (district IX) please change to night line 901 at Szentlélek tér (Árpád Bridge).

Sziget Festival is one best and biggest festivals of Europe. It's a seven day during festival and it takes place on a small island in the river Donau. If you're at the festival you wouldn't notice that you're standing on a small island. So you can imagen how big it is! I was there last summer and it was just INCREDIBLE! People come from all over the world to see this event! For a festival, the food was awesome and very cheap, just like all drinks. One pint costs about €1,50 = $2,25. But what is a festival without music? There are all kinds of music, from rock, reggea tille drum and base etc. But in this event it's not all about music. Besides that there is much other stuff to do, like bungee jumping, follow workshops, shopping, gambling, chilling and much more! This was a small interpretation about my experience! And ofcourse I will be there again next year!!!

The best and biggest festistival in europe. I've been there for the first time last year and it was sick! Not just music, but also culture, art, whatever you can think off. I loved it all. Everyone is in a good spirit which makes it easy to make contact with everyone. I've stayed for 5 days, and we also went with the boat to either buda or pest (i forgot). It's very nice and easily to do. This year I'll go again and drink my 1,5L mojito cocktail which I didn't have last year! A real must if you are into the festival spirit. Have fun !!

The best forever! This is my favourite event in every year in Hungary. okok, the concerts. But you are just walking in the streets and every 10 minutes you find some interestings: a mini puppet show, or people who want to hug you, funny T-shirts, climbing wall, movies, chill-out time, so on, so on.... Every minutes in the week is full of programe. We meet there!

Nice festival. It's something we spoiled Dutchmen are comparing to our Lowlands-festival.
Although it looks like it, it's definitely not the same as Lowlands, as it lasts one week, the prices are cheaper (in every way), and it's in a nice city far away from home. What do you want more?
