Aggtelek is known for its unique natural beauties and the spacious caverns of the Baradla Cave. Situated in the limestone-caulk hills of the Northern Uplands, the cave system is open to the public, but only few paths of the extensive underground are accessible all year round. Some guided tours are also available to the more skilled to discover the rougher parts. The region is on the UNESCO's World Heritage list and is under strict protection.
