The town of Akranes is only moments away from the Reykjavík City centre and since it is connected to the Reykjavík city bus transfer system it's easy and cheap to get there - only 50-60 mins. drive for 6-7 Euro.
By car from Reykjavík take Highway 1 to the West and North of Iceland. Just after crossing the Hvalfjord Tunnel you take Road 51 that will lead you straight to Akranes.
