Akureyrarkirkja is a church in Akureyri, it was opened in 1940. The architect was Guðjón Samúelsson, the state architect. You can also find art piece made by Ásmundur Sveinsson.

this church is a beautifull exemple of modern scandinavian architecture, one of the numerous concrete churches in iceland.... located in the middle of a huge hill. The outside looks very special and the inside is a bit more traditionnal. the view on the church, the fjord and the moutains from the top of the hill is just awesome!
