Getting there:
You have to travel in a good car, like a jeep. Especcially if you want to see it from the East side.

Feb 14, 2010 Last summer I went to see the most mightiest waterfall in Iceland, and also in Europe! It is in the North of the country, not far from Mývatn, and is called Dettifoss. The waterfall is extremely beautiful, and while you gaze at it, you find yourself very tiny in the world. It is 44 m. high, and 100 m. wide. You can see the waterfall both from the West and East side. I‘ve seen it from both sides, and I thought it more majestic from the East side. From there you can also come closer to it, than from the other side. Althought if you desite to see it from there, you have to travel inn a good car, because the road is aweful! Me and my boyfriend were traveling on his mother‘s Honda Jazz, and we thought we were destroying it the whole time (and I still think we did!) But on the parking lot we were very proud we made it, because there were only jeeps, and our cute little car. Because the waterfall is not very central, there are not that many tourist who goes seeing it, at least not when I went, last august.
