Mar 16, 2009 UNESCO World Heritage Site of an incredible beauty, containing several large and smaler Buddhist Stupas among the oldest Buddhist art on the Indian sub-continent. The Jhansi Stupas are worth a multi-day round tour. They are hard to reach from the traditional Rajasthan travel circuits in India. The way we visited this unique Buddhist site was tough. We travelled by train from Delhi to Bhopal. This city has a very nice Museum of Men. This open-air museum gives you a great overview of the different tribes of authentic India and allows you to spend the day in Bhopal. By private car a transport from Bhopal to Khajuraho was arranged. On the way to Khajuraho (the Kamasutra temples) you can stop at the Jhansi site. By the end of the day you can reach Khajuraho. Good Luck. Related Links
