There are two burning ghats in Varanasi. Be respectful and do not take photos of burning bodies. It is considered highly offensive to do so. Varanasi is one of the best places to learn more about Hindu culture, and the burning ghats are a major part of this.

If you truly want to learn about the Hindu culture this is a good place.  It is really important to be respectful of the fact this is a family with someone they loved. I felt like a lot of people forgot that as they took photos or gawked.
