The reserve is 2400 hectares of land, set against a lake and forested hills, and is inhabited by a number of animals, including wildfowl, hares, wild boar, desert foxes, and a number of deer and antelopes (including blackbucks and bluebells). It was once a royal hunting ground, but is now a full-fledged animal sanctuary. The are no authorized guides and the reserve is only accessible by Gajner Palace Hotel vehicles, though you don't have to be a guest to enter the sanctuary. Oct 30, 2008 We had a great day on a mini safari through the reserve. We saw a ton of different species of wildlife and were really impressed by how massive the site was. The hotel was slightly out of my price range, so we were visiting the reserve as non-guests, but had no trouble booking a jeep. It was a lot of fun!!
