About Junagarh Fort
The original fort was built between 1588 and 1593 by a general in the army of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, with additional palaces and luxurious sites added by subsequent maharajas. The fort is different from most because it doesn't sit on a hilltop, but it has never been conquered.

Many movies have been shot at the venue. One can shop from traditional shops and pick souvenirs for friends and acquaintances. Has a decent cafe also serving hygenic food. Beautifully lit in the evenings. One must use a guide for an enthralling experience. Beware of pick-pockets. You may negotiate about 70% at the shops.

I didn't know about the fortress until we got to Bikaner and I was pleasantly surprised! It was very impressive, with amazing architecture and a lot of artifacts on display. It's easy to tell that it was built in pieces by different maharajas! The views on the upper levels give great views of Bikaner and the desert.
