it is one of the most colourful temple i saw in india, and i have been a few times and on loads of different places. this one is standing in the middle of the city, if you are lucky you can find an elephant inside the temple and if you give him a banana then he will bless you :o) further, madurai IS a dodgy city, look out for ripoffs by the rishadrivers or other people
