in mumbai, i simply wanted to get out of town as soon as possible! i stayed only as long as i could conduct my business and get a train out of there. it didn't help that i got there at the worst time of the year to visit, the hot humid summer, and i was almost broke! mumbai is india's most expensive and crowded city. in short, its not the kind of place you go to without a plan, and, certainly, not with a thin wallet! if you must visit mumbai, i would suggest that you get a nice place to sleep first, which will may cost a bit. but that way, you can handle the stress during the day, and then "escape" and recharge your batteries at night while at home, or at least have a friend or travel-buddy to speak to while traveling there. and i am the type who doesn't mind being alone! otherwise, i would say its not a place for the faint-hearted!
