One of the highlights of any trip to Bali, and especially if you're going upto Ubud.  So nice to wander around with all the monkeys in their natural habitat and being able to get up close to them.  Just make sure that if you're feeding them bananas, don't tease them, or they'll jump all over you and mug you of all your belongings.  (They love sunglasses!)

Getting there:

The monkey forest is a fun place to go to. A place to see monkeys from a close range. You can buy food to feed them. There is a small pool inside the forest. When I was there the monkeys where swimming and jumping into the pool from statues/ trees. Lot of fun to see! Mind you, make sure you don't ware glasses or shades or anything, they'll take it from you and with some luck you'll get it back. It is also good to see the temple inside the forest. To bad I could not enter at that time.

A great place to visit if u are into monkeys, just walk down the main steet in Ubud and u will see the entrance. You can buy bananas to feed the monkeys but be careful!, once they notice u have food they will swarm u and try to steal it from u. But still a lovely experience. The forest itself is very wild and beautiful.

Great place to feed and enjoy the wildness of these strong and kinda dangerous monkeys! Feed them bananas watch them crack open coconuts!
But dont get too close, these monkeys can get pretty angry when their food is being taken away or even if u take too long to give it to them.

Of course locals will sell bananas to you so that you can distribute them to the monkeys. Be careful though... these are still wild animals with huge teeth ! But it is amazing to watch them interact with you or their own kind. A great moment to spend in Bali.

A really fun place to visit, you can feed the monkeys that live there. It´s an interesting place to see the interactions between them. Just don´t try to hide food from them because they will find it, even it that means following you and pulling your clothes.
