Traditional House
Traditional Village
Toraja is one of the unique civilization in the world. Being located in the heart of Sulawesi Island, Toraja endures outsider influence and keeping its centuries old tradition alive up to the modern world. Tongkonan House depicts the philosophy of Toraja both from it's boat shaped architecture and the carvings on it's walls. It is to complete with the daily life and the colorful mortuary rituals where hundreds of water buffaloes and pigs are scarified.

Getting there:
Fly to Makassar first. There are regular flights from almost all big cities and towns in Indonesia. Or you may take direct flight either from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. There are daily flights by Garuda Indonesia from Singapore and 4 times a week flight from Kuala Lumpur by AirAsia.

From Makassar you still need to drive about 8 - 9 hours northward to reach Rantepao - a small town at the heart of Toraja. There many hotels to choose from in Toraja.
