tamansari or watercastle is situated nearby bird market of jogjakarta called 'pasar ngasem'. i like to be here, watching the ruins of old palace and underground mosque. but then main attraction is the water castle itself. named "tamansari" a.k.a 'flower garden' in english.
long time ago, the princesses like to take a bath whilst swimming in the pool inside of the water castle [from where the name was given]. bare naked and whenever the king fancy one amongst them, he will throw a rose as a sign ;)

Its in poor shap, but its old. In combination Batik Shops and Art Gallary nice walk.
